Our Journey

It started with a simple observation.

Working as consultants across various firms, we saw the same pattern everywhere: talented professionals—lawyers, consultants, accountants—spending hours each month on invoicing. It wasn't just tedious; it was pulling them away from the work they actually cared about.

For independents working through firms, the situation was even more complex. Many firms had taken on the monthly invoicing for their self-employed professionals, creating smoother operations for everyone. But with Peppol compliance on the horizon for 2026, this arrangement was about to become significantly more complicated.

We realized we needed to solve both problems at once.

A family venture

Nicolas Degroote, a finance consultant who'd seen these challenges firsthand, teamed up with his brother Guillaume, a data engineer who knew how to automate complex processes. Together, we set out to build Estica—a platform that wouldn't just automate invoicing, but would also give firms the tools to seamlessly manage invoicing on behalf of their self-employed professionals.

The vision was clear: make invoicing so effortless that it disappears into the background, whether you're managing your own invoices or handling them for an entire team.

Our first believers

In late 2024, we began building. By late 2025, Estica went live with two firms who believed in what we were creating: Argo Law and Schoups. Their trust and feedback shaped Estica into what it is today—not just invoicing software, but a complete solution for modern professional practices.

Where we're headed

Today, Estica powers invoicing for firms and independents across Belgium. We're constantly refining the platform, listening to our users, and staying ahead of regulatory changes so you don't have to think about them.

Our mission remains the same: give professionals their time back. Whether you're a sole consultant or a firm managing dozens of independents, invoicing should be automatic, compliant, and completely hassle-free.

We're just getting started.
